As a plain little fellow Chain was placed in a pet home. Many
months later a phone call alerted us to a crested living on a
chain in a local backyard, upon investigation and me having an
angry fit we discovered he was one of ours and after several pound
visits we were able too purchase him back.
The once ugly duckling has become a prince charming and has won
his way into many hearts and into the history books. Although only
lightly shown "Chain", so named for obvious reasons, picked up two
hundred and fifty points in his first four months of his campaign,
going on to win Best Puppy in Show at his first crested
speciality. In 2001 under breed specialist Mr P Taylor (UK) Chain
took "Best Exhibit in Show" at the New South Wales Chinese Crested
Club Speciality. The previous weekend he had been awarded Runner
up to Best Exhibit in Show under Mrs B Taylor at the Chinese
Crested Club of Victoria Speciality.
Having been shown only lightly we decided to show him again in 2004
prior to his departure to Finland, resulting in not one but two
Royal Best of Breed Awards, one at the Perth Royal Show and the
other earlier in the year at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, where
he was awarded Best Exhibit in Group - fourth
(toy entry 550).
Known as a bit of a comedian, chain is a loving companion, loves
to go to the shows and definitely has an in your face temperament,
will show for anyone and would go home with anyone too.
We are pleased to announce Chain’s safe arrival at his new
owner’s, Essi and Annti at Stormblasten Cresteds in
Finland. Although we hear he is not all that impressed with the
snow, his new owners are impressed. We wish them all the best in
the future and hope he helps in their breeding program.
